Welcome to my website!
I take immense pleasure in saying this because it took me a long time to make this. Yes, I do not enjoy webdesigning.
β¨ the most amazing things happen in Science β¨
and I (try to) cover it here!
But first, Author letter of motivation! ππ½
π― This week in Science
A small collection of articles that shows what researchers have learnt this week around the world.
Monthly Spotlight
Protein Structure of the month
Every month I have the spotlight on an interesting solved structure. I break it down and analyze it to discuss what it means and why it is important.

Plastic eating enzymes!
The Gist:
The crystal structure of the most efficient plastic digesting enzyme called ICCG. This enzme is capable of digesting plastic molecules (PET analogues) shown in the figure (yellow). How cool! The bioengineering of these enzymes with a good energy efficient digestion process, we can say good bye to our plastic wastes in an environment friendly way!
Structure of the month: Explained!
The Science:
The bacterial strain is genetically modified to produce monohydroxyethyl terephthalate hydrolase or the MHETase. This hydrolase protein catalysis the hydrolysis of the ester linkages in the polymeric chains to break it down into it’s constituent components, EG (Ethelene glycol) and terephthalic acid (TPA). These components are then utilized by the bacteria for growth and sustenance.
Scientific Cause of the Month πΈ
Every month i source a cause that you and I can participate together. it going to be a free and effective way to make some changes for our planet!
Save The Asian Elephants
Elephants are wonderful intelligent creatures. More than 1400 companies profit from training these elephants to carry hoards of tourists and to employee them in circuses for recreational purposes.
These practices not only rely on “breaking the spirits” of the elephants to train them but also anatomically change their skeletons and muscles thereby leaving them very disordered for survival.
Let’s take a minute to make their lives better.
